I don’t know, people seem to like this k-cup, but it just did not do it for me. Maybe I got a bad batch, as it was simply overpowering for me. And I do like many of the bolder k-cups, such as Midnight Magic and Rainforest Espresso, but those are simply better coffees to me. Maybe I’ll give the Emeril’s regular another chance, but it did not win me over the first time around. As a side-note, I really like the Emeril’s decaf–it is much more drinkable to me than the Emeril’s regular.
Interestingly, I do not disagree with the positive reviews — this is a super strong coffee! Army coffee, as one reviewer said! Or, a slap in the face, as another one said! This is just too strong for me. I thought I liked strong coffee until I tasted this one. It made me realize I’m really a medium type of girl. I drink my coffee black and I had to water this one down to be able to drink it at all. I would have given only one star, b/c I don’t like it personally, but gave it three b/c I recognize that what I hate about it is exactly what some will love about it! So, army coffee lovers, slap-in-the-face coffee lovers, this is for you! Medium guys and gals, not so much.
I’m not a fan of most stronger coffee, since it usually seems too bitter. Not the case with Big Easy Bold. The emphasis should be on easy. It has a smooth easy taste. Give it a try, you won’t regret it.
This coffee is as big and bold as Emeril himself. One of my personal favorites of all time with the Keurig, it makes a fantastic full bodied cup of coffee without the typical burnt or overly bitter taste normally associated with dark roasted coffees. When brewed an immediate wonderful coffee aroma will fill your kitchen and it develops a very light caramel colored froth that hugs the edge of your cup or mug.
